Cops pepper spray 8 year old

Ok, this kid was throwing chairs around, had chased the students and teachers out of the room, had a sharpened wooden stake in one hand, admits he wanted to stab the teachers, yelled 'Come get me, fucker' to the cops, it's the 3rd time the police have been called to deal with him, the cops tried to talk him down, he didn't respond...

And mom gets a (probably paid) interview on which she says the cops shouldn't have used pepper spray, they should have just talked to him...

This all goes to my favorite rant, Dr Spockism. Dr Spock taught parents that they should never say no to a child, and never punish a child. Couple that with a mentally disturbed child, and here's what you get. I can't believe she has the nerve to complain here. Even the kid knows he deserved it. If they had wrestled him down, with him thrashing and with that sharp stake in his hand, and he got hurt in some manner, she'd be bitching about that too. What're they supposed to do in a situation like this? If it had been an adult, he would've been tasered, or shot, for attempted assault with a weapon I imagine. Especially when telling the cops to come get me, fucker.

Parents like this drive me nuts. My baby is an angel. My baby didn't do anything wrong. Why'd the punish my baby? Someone slap her, hard...

I have no issue with the kid getting sprayed. The kid was even quoted as saying he probably deserved it. Kid needs help, I hope he gets it. Mom needs a wake up call.

Actually they should go rodney king on the mom too for raising such a little monster & then blaming the school & teachers for the whole thing.
The moron is raising a future psychopath & enabling him instead of getting him the help he needs.

Hell yeah. This mom is an idiot. Some day, someone (not mom obviously) will try to discipline or punish this kid, and he will kill them in their sleep.

if I tried to pull this shit at 8, I would be begging for pepper spray when I found out they called my mom and she was coming to the school.

Yeah. Each time I read this I am a little stunned again. I mean, EIGHT years old, yelling "come get me, fucker", and swinging a stake at people. EIGHT! How can this idiot mom not realize he needs help?

But the cops were totally out of line. Hold his hand and talk nicely to him. Uh uh.

30 years ago, a teacher could've grabbed him and smacked his punk ass. That's what would've happened to me. But now there would be a lawsuit and the worthless mother and her scumbag attorney would've gotten millions for the abuse of the child...
