Cool Pontiac Hearse in Addison NY

Ran across what I'm guessing is a late 40s or early 50s Pontiac Hearse sitting in a small used car lot in Addison NY this morning. Looks really cool, dark purple paint with ghost flames and some custom touches. No idea what is under the hood (didn't want to get shot at 7:30 a.m. in a small town where they would probably agree it was a justified killing and quietly bury the body in the woods). No idea how much but the phone number is shown in one of the pics. This car needs an LS1 if it doesn't already have it.

If you need an excuse to go look at it, just tell the wife you are taking her to the Corning Ware factory and museum then casually stumble across the car...

got it. when you cruise up 15 you're mere miles from Jeff's place. Let us know when you're coming through and we could all meet up for dinner.

    Sadly now demodded :(

If my guess is correct then that is a 1954 Pontiac Hearse. If stock then it probably has a 268cid flathead "Chieftan" straight 8.

Reminds me of my friend in the 90's. He won a "Best Halloween Costume" contest in which the prize was a late 60's Cadillac hearse. It had a 800 watt stereo system that we bump up to 1600 watt. I slaps on a huge 2AD sticker that reads "Hell on Wheels". Oh the fun we use to have.

Had lunch at Texas Hot but my daughter always sticks me for dinner at Beef Haus when we are in town. Nice little town and better off economically than many old north-east towns. She is looking at buying a house but the taxes up there are ridiculous! You wind up paying more in taxes every year than your mortgage.

Does she work nearby? I was head of R&A for Alstom in Hornell who also has a plant in Wellsville.

Have her move right over the state line in PA. I have a house for sale that's two miles from the NY border, 18 miles from Addison, maybe 28 miles from Wellsville.

    It is priced right.

She works for the schools in Wellsville and lives about a block off the main street. Went from a cross state border job between North Carolina and Virginia where she was driving 50 miles one way every day to a 2 minute commute. She is looking to stay right in town. Luckily her requirements are pretty small at this point. Thanks.

That's interesting. Nice. I've been through Addison a couple times. Nice scenery but nothing much better than Wellsboro.
