Connecticut fishing license...absolutely outrageou
So last year my residential fishing license was 20 dollars, and there was no saltwater license. So I went online to look at the new prices, a friend of mine said that they went up, and they have a new saltwater license. Its now $40 for a residential freshwater license, and $10 for a saltwater license. So needless to say I'm slightly pissed. So I went online and punched in fees for other states, see if anyone else was higher and I only found one, California $42 for a residential fishing license. Figures CA. would be higher, but you can fit about 20 Connecticuts in California. I would rather spend the 42 and fish in California the spend 40 just to fish fresh water in Connecticut.
Anyone else’s state rise there fishing license more that 100%?

The Feds are requiring a saltwater license... Something about tracking fish stocks but aftyer reading the fine print it is simply a money grab by the states so that residents buy a state salt water license.
As for the inland license fees, I can't comment intelligently on CT and their rates.

You need a saltwater licence now? Just checked and it is 29.00 for fresh and 10 for saltwater. I wonder if you have to get a one day for saltwater when going out on a charter boat. Free license if you are blind though.

Its not worth it when local PD slaps you with a 100+ dollar fine for something that could have been 28 dollars. I completely agree, but like everything else in life... where money can be made it, will be.
Around my neck of the woods, if you fish all summer season, your guaranteed to get a ticket.
