Didn't you hear? They're only closing dealerships that didn't contribute to the Dems.

there are a few "big 3" dealerships around here that look as if their inventory has been drastically reduced. haven't closed up shop yet, but it's hard to sell anything when there are only 20 cars on the lot...

chevy garage and the gmc garage will be closing here. our pontiac and buick garages were connected so we will retain the buick garage. about 4 years ago one of our dodge dealers shut down and now about a year ago our bigger dodge dealer called it quits. he moved his operation to the next town over and maintained his toyota/scion franchise. we still have a jeep dealer that we haven't heard anything about so it must be sticking around.
in all i would say that we lost 3 dealerships to the recession and a total of 4 franchises.

O'Conner Chevrolet in Alsip, IL - Where I bought the SS from.
Most of the dealerships in the NW, Indiana region have remained open from what I can tell.
