chest hurt

last night the left side of my chest started hurting really bad, it was worse when i layed down and it felt like something was "squeezing" my chest... this went on for a couple hours and i woke up twice last night with it hurting again... oh and when i stood up i got kinda light headed... hasnt bothered me since this morning though.. im confused on wtf is going on

Sounds like a Pancreatic attack.

I dunno Sarge, I suffer from Pancreatic Attacks, and they are usually associated with severe indigestion, wild nausea, cramps so bad it will make you scream.. been hospitalized twice with em..Had to have an IV and was unable to eat for 13 days (hence the IV) mild ones I guess could make your chest feel tight, but should still cause pain/fever.. the pancreas dumps acid and bile onto the inner organs (stomach/intestines) this causes pain when it starts to etch your guts.. There's always an exception.. But let's hope he ISN'T having pancreas issues... Can be REALLY bad news

Mine ? I was hyperventilating from the pain... Never noticed any shortness or hard to breathe... Of course i was trying to yakk all my guts out at the time too..Usually feels like my guts are on fire.. hard to explain.. Almost like food poisoning, but deeper and you get all hot and flushed... Wife said I looked like I had a major sunburn.. ?
And your digestive tract freaks.. Stomach valves lock up. no bowel movements etc.. Really depends on the severity of the attack.. I have had a couple that I treated at home... Just can't eat ANYTHING for a couple days... and I mean anything... No water, No nada.. Then the pain goes away.. You can start off on broth and ice chips.. An acute attack or even a serious one is bad news..

Appendix? Given your age. You most definitely should get checked out a.s.a.p. to rule out anything major like an anurysm of your aorta. Stuff like that.

what kind of body type do you have?

it could be this:

its happened to me a few times, and i had to have surgery once for it.

+1 on going to see a doctor.

My mom suffered from that.. That would more resemble his symptoms, but hard telling not knowing..

Try eating some crackers.

When i was in high school our school nurse would give you crackers to eat for any problem. my stomach hurts... here are some crackers. I have a headache... eat some crackers. I broke my leg in gym once and the bitch gave me crackers.

Quit reading these posts and goto the Doctor. Hopefully by the time you read this you already went. Any time you call with chest pains they make you come in. There is a reason for that. Its so you dont DIE! lol
