checking out cars at dealerships.

Have you guys ever just gone to go test drive or just to check a car out. But if you show up on your beater. No one greats you or if one does they are like. What do want. But if show up in your f-body. They right away come after you. I even have had a couple of salesmen move there cars on the lot so I could be in the shade.? I was a salesman before and I never cared what you drove.

Yep, went into a Jag and Rolls dealer and nobody would even ackknowledge my being there.

it bugs me when you go to dealerships like that. Then when you do run into a salesman they dont know squat about the car. It really is a pitty.

happens to me but I do it on purpose til I find a dealership that doesn't care i'm in ripped jeans, a t-shirt and a hat. Then i go back to the other snobby dealerships and ask them what they think about my new car.

If I'm driving our work van a white 90 cargo caravan that's all beat up they never come out side to see if I want anything. If I pull in with my T/A they are outside before I even stop.

Had the same problem. Just for the hell of it me and a buddy wanted to test drive a mustang gt 04. Showed up in is dodge stratus its not a total piece but it could use some help. Not a single damn sales man came out to use. A few days later we roll up in the z28 t-tops of and cut out open before we even took 10 steps away from the car there was a salemans helping us. Of course we gave the salesman a bunch of shit about how interested we were in the car blah blah got the guy really worked up thinking we were going to buy the car that day. We took it for a nice little test drive and then split once we got back.

If I am actually looking to buy then it is like a ghost town and I usually have to go find someone. If I stop in just to check out one of the new cars then they are like vultures. I can't figure it out. Never seems to matter what I drive in.

I know what you mean .. They wont or cant do a walk around , they cant explain what all the controls do .. All they want you to do is take it on a test drive and I guess that lets you know everything there is to know about the car ... I can see that maybe on a used car lot but a new one ??A salseperson should know all about what every little doo-dad does and how it does it ,,, That alone will get you more sales ....

I drive past a new GTO at a GM dealership a few days a week. I want to go look at it but I'm afraid they'll call the cops if I drive on to the lot...

Yep!!! I pulled up in my 85 Buick Park Avenue at our local Pontiac dealer about 4 years back when I was looking at buying my 02 TA WS6. I wanted a SOM, the orange & when I pulled up I noticed they didn't have any. No one came out to great me, but then I finally went inside & someone finally helped me. I told him I wanted this color & they had a black, navy blue & silver, but I didn't want them. They told me they couldn't get me any other color & asked if I reallized what the cost was!!!! I was like, yea I am aware & already got the money. Still didn't take me serious, so I left & went to the dealer where I always get my cars & they had it from another dealer in 1 day & I bought it. I made sure to take it back up there & show them, once I pulled up in it, EVERYONE ran outside to greet me
