I'm looking into getting a better digital camera. I want something that can take the abuse, and is waterproof. I've seen 3 cameras i like so far, but i know nothing about new digital cameras. The first, eventhough its not waterproof, is the sony cybershot. I've also looked at the go pro hero hd, and then also ive looked at the panasonic sdr sw20. I'd like something that can take good pics, and videos, so i could use it in my car if i wanted to record something like auto X or a trip like top gear does. Anyone have any good suggestions? oh, and im trying to stay between 100-300 for the price range.

No idea in that price range. You can get into a really good camera in the $500-$600 range and DSLRs from there.

Canon G9 used or left over new for that price is the only thing I can think of. I use it in light rain find and have a watertight case for under water. I cary that camera daily and a DSLR for real shooting.
