Calling you computer nerds, graphics card question

Ive got a computer with no AGP card slot, i can see its got the holes to plug one in though. Can i just buy that little plug in thing and pop it in those holes that are in the motherboard? If so, what is that thing called?

Boy you have baffled me at this point. Maybe a picture of what you are talking about or at least a computer / motherboard model number would help.

If your computer does not have AGP at all then I have never heard of being able to add it by popping in to some holes on the motherboard.

How old of a machine is it? What is the processor?
