I disagree with the article. I always drive the speed limit when I'm drunk. I don't want to get pulled over and get a DUI.

Um, if you're serious - they are other dangers from driving drunk. Worse defensive driving, too - an untold number of multi-car crashes involve drivers of more than one vehicle doing something they shouldn't have been. Like one sleepy driver drifting into the path of a guy who hasn't fully sobered up yet. The Jim Leyritz case was a doozy.

As a former dui recipient, an offense and moment in my life im ashamed of but have moved on and forever changed my habits when partaking in the consumption of adult beverages, I fully believe and agree that theres no amount of alcohol that is "safe" when operating heavy machinery, particularly a vehicle. Any consumption of booze is making your condition worse then if you were stone sober. You dont have to be "drunk" to be impaired, and who decides what drunk really is? Do you know what you are gonna blow before you get in a car after being at a bar? Not to mention 90 percent of the talking heads talking shit about dui offenders FREQUENTLY drink and drive themselves not realizing they are at risk of DUI themselves. If you are gonna drink. Drink. Just arrange for a sober driver.

Just remember even if its not your fault and you have been drinking your insurance is null and void.
D&D is a criminal offence and can prohibit future job opportunities and international travel.

If drinking and driving is illegal, so should texting or talking on your damn cell phone. I see people doing the dumbest shit behind the wheel of a vehicle while dicking around on their phone.

Fuck this nanny state and all you pussies. If I wanna have two beers with my dinner I shouldn't be considered a criminal. A legal limit of 0.0? Come on.

That is illegal around here, except with special equipment. Sooner or later, everywhere else will have similar laws.
On BAC, I think that low readings above 0 should be handled with warnings, fines, and alcohol ed, at least at first. I like to point out that drinking and driving don't naturally go together, i.e., it's not a natural right. People were drinking alcohol tens of thousands of years before motor vehicles were invented.

This is why I make sure I eat a nice dinner with my one and ONLY drink. When I am out, I limit myself to one beer or one wine cooler with my dinner. This way, I am not buzzed while I am driving. But, I don't go to bars as much as I used to.

I will try and make this short. The ex and I worked 12 hour shifts 6 to 6. At the time she was on days and I was on nights. I got home had my dinner an started my beer. She calls and states she forgot her purse. I slam the beer grab her purse and head towards her. I was stupid and speeding. Got pulled over and the roadside breathalyzer had me at .100 which is a DUI here. Got a good lawyer who had the sample tested again and came back as .001. Thanks to that the case got dropped. Heck even the speeding ticket went away. Period if you're drinking don't drive period. I agree there is no amount safe. But I feel the same about cell phones and driving and I am not talking about texting. Driver inattention is the leading factor for most accidents. When you drive your focus should be on one thing period.
