Question Is the Buick GN one of the best Muscle Cars Ever?

Got a chance to take my GN out this past summer a few times after getting it painted and i got a ton of compliments........Every gas station every other stop light and any place i went People would stop me and ask about the car, people would always offer to buy it and asking would i sell it.....even when crusing with my buddy and he has a spotless 71 chevelle SS396 my car would get all the attention at gas stations and meets......This got me thinking man this car has got to be one of the best most respected muscle cars of all time but just how how on the list would it be in your opinion? top 10? top 5? the best ever?

Other than our Trans Am, it is the only car that I have always wanted from the very day I first saw one.

My dad has one with 22,000 miles on it. GNs were my dream car when I was a kid, I begged my dad to buy it when his friend found it for sale. I was about12 years old when he bought it. He sold his 84 Corvette that he had for it. I love taking that car out for a cruise. I get more looks and comments in that then I do in my t/a.

    GN....no. GNX.....yes.

Lets see. The GN goes like hell and is faster out of the box than 99.99999% of all muscle cars from teh 60s/70s, it handles like shit, and the brakes are junk. Yup, thats a muscle car in my book and no I am not joking. Its a muscle car with style and attitude.

I just cant put a late 80s turboed 6 banger in the same catagory as a late 60s early 70s v8 musclecar. I guess if they put a turbo on a 1987 chevy chevette it could have been a musclecar no? lol

I think it's definitely in the top 10, and definitely is #1 as far as the 80's go.

Streetable 9's are very real, streetable 10's are common place, 11's are a walk in the park with very little money.

    Any questions?

I see a bunch of silly postings, "it's a v6 so no", "top 10, no"....

Don't kid yourself, it's deffinetly in the top ten and one of the most highly sought after MUSCLE cars..

Don't think so? Open your eyes and do some research..

Just as the above post 8's-9's-10's-11's all day long..

With the right block, bored and stroked, 1800+ hp is doable..

They were fast then and nearly 30 years later they are fast now..

Two miles from my house is a Buick GN with 471 miles on the clock. Still can't get a price from the owner.

    I'd say it's in the 30K range, maybe/probably more.

The price is climbing on these cars, I wouldn't be surprised if if he asked 20 to 25,000 for that car. Depending on the year, 86 and 87 were the only years for the inter cooler and in 1986 they only made around 1400 GNs.1987 was a different story, they made them into 1988 no sure on the production number but it was pretty high.
