Blood Test/ Alcohol questions
Buddy was in a motorcycle accident yesterday (sunday) around 4:30, and had a Blood test around 5 or 6 pm..... It showed 44.5% alcohol, normal is like 40%....He hadn't had anything to drink since 1 beer friday night, positive thats all he had.
Why would alcohol show in the blood test 48 hours later? and how much really over is 44.5? is that alot?
serious answers please, we are trying to figure this out. He don't want that on his record, mainly for insurance to see.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but death from alcohol commonly occurs at 0.40% BAC, so I'm not sure what test or numbers you are using...

.08% in most states is the limit for DUI conviction. OP, take another look at what the actual numbers are.
If he hasn't had a drink in 48 hours, it seems to me it's impossible to show any level of alcohol in his system unless his kidneys haven't done anything in that time.

If those numbers are true, my condolences OP, because not only is your friend dead, someone went on to drain half his blood and inject that same amount of alcohol into the body.

44 percent alc? Did you even think it over before you made the post dude? I dont mean to be an ass or anything but .08 is the legal limit... 0.4 and higher and you are probably dead. they can run blood tests or pick up the ferments of alcohol via breath. You can get false reading if the person just used mouthwash but that would come into play if the breathalyzer was given like immediately after. Any alcohol consume 48 hrs prior has been metabolized, 1 drink per every hour with a normal functioning liver. If hes telling the truth, and only had 1 beer 48 hrs prior, theres absolutely no way in hell his blood had that high a concentration. IMPOSSIBLE

I dunno what rating system would consider having 40% of your bloodstream filled with alcohol "normal."
