Barrett Jackson 2002 Zl-1
Did anyone see the white camaro ZL-1 sell for $80,000 this week. 2002 CAMARO with the 427. I don't remember what people had to pay for those but I hope he made money.

It was on tuesday and ending up as a top 5 or 6 sale for the day.
The Speed TV cast did not comment much on the car as the oldschoolers did not know much about it besides it was a collector car.

That sounds right, I think they had come back from commercials as it was sold. I need to go thru my books to find more on those limited models.

If I'm not mistaken, which I could be, wasn't it a 6 figure price tag, since they were so rare?

from what I have been able to catch .... theses first few days you see alot of good deals ...not the crazy $$$$ you will see this weekend ...I wonder if it is the cars or people just spending money to be seen on TV.........

PEWTER- 2000 CAMARO SS #3821
I found an article that said GMMG built 69 of the ZL-1's and it was $100,000+ so if it was one of those he lost a little money. There were lower horse versions I think also without the C5R motor.

If that was the case and new it was $100k the car lost $20k as it sold for $80k?

Thats the risk of taking your car to a no reserve auction....

If it was the Phase III 427, it was over $100,000. I thought that was what I remembered from GMMG.

black- Twin Turbo C5 Stroker WS6
There were several of those cars new for sale at GM event Carlisle in 2003...Their window stickers were $90k+.
Thats exactly how the new Camaro should be built...people would pay $35k for that.

LPM, & Blk- 2001 Z/28, 2010 2LT/RS
Actually that car that sold on BJ was a PH1 and not a PHIII 427 car
The intakes are different between the PHI/PHII cars and the PHIII plus the hood says 400 HP and the PHIII 427 cars were 600HP
PH3 427 engine
PH1 & PH2 engine

BJ just broke the highest selling car record, with a Shelby AC SuperSnake Cobra supercharged 427 with 800 hp and an automatic transmission. It sold for chump change, $5 million.
