anyone play slide guitar?

any of you guys play slide? I bought a slide last week and just got around to messing with it today. I had one years and years ago but gave up on it rather quickly. I now know what one of my problems was.....back then I didn't know about open G tuning. Wow, what a difference that makes as far as the slide sounding good. My right hand finger tips are sore as shit from picking today. It's going to take a bunch of practice to get good at it but I can at least get it to sound decent now. I have to figure out how to make it fit in with a standard tuned guitar now so when my buddy plays blues rythm's I can play lead with the slide.

My grandpa makes and plays everything. So if you got a problem let me know and I can ask him. 12 strings, steal, bangos, slides, acoustic, elec.. Etc.....
