Anyone own an English Bulldog? Tell me bout em

Im having a hard time trying to decide between getting an English Bulldog and a Boxer. Ive had boxers my whole life but recently I came across some English bulldogs and those things are the coolest lookin dogs ive seen when they are full grown, like miniature linebackers.

Anyways if any of you have one of these bulldogs, tell me how they are, do they play around or just sleep, do they drool alot, do they bark alot?(i hate barkin dogs) etc etc. Post pics too, thanks.

It may be of interest to you to have a look at these Australian Buldogs.

They are making an effort to breed a group of dogs that do not suffer somre of the difficulties the english bulldog may have

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

guy I know had an english bulldog-said it was one of the smartest dogs EVER. One day they left and the dog had to take a shit, so it pulled the news paper out of the rack and shat on it, then covered it with another news paper

I have always wanted an English Bulldog.

A friend of mine had one and apparently they have some pretty rough skin diseases that they get...also, I was informed that with these breeds you have to keep their faces very clean (like all of the wrinkes and folds) need to be kept clean and whatnot.

All dogs have issues and whatnot. Especially with constant breeding.

In reality, you are going to spend a pretty penny for an animal that has a good pedigree..and even then you can't guarantee that they wont have problems.

My mom has a wheaten terrier. great little dog, high energy, always happy, good with kids and around other animals. That thing is allergic to damn near everything.

labs have had issues with their hips from all of the breeding.

I always liked great danes, but those things only live for an average of 7-8 years.

if you have had boxers i would stick to them...

all breeds have some health problems, but in my experience english bulldogs as a breed have more problems than most (skin issues, breathing problems, heat stroking, etc.)...

I don't have an English bulldog, but I do have an American bulldog. And th4 is right. English bulldogs do have a whole lot problems that an owner has to deal with. The skin problems aren't even the worse. I can attest to how bad the skin problems. My bulldog wasn't able to grow hair for a pretty long time. And he still has some slight "dandruff" to this day. Bulldogs are also very tempermental. And I know that a lot of dogs have bad tempers, but bulldogs have one of the worst ones; thankfully there is a sure-fire way to tell when one of them is pissed off. Just look at their eyes and if they're red and bloodshot then you know not to mess with the dog. Other than the temper bulldogs are really great dogs. If you have any other pets, just make sure to get the bulldog associated with the other animals at a young age or the bulldog will be mean and bully the other animal forever.
