Why do several F-Body owners think mods increase value?

It's worth whatever someone's willing to pay for it.

I'm pretty much accepting that whatever money that got put into my mustang got buried in the car and did not increase the value of it. Blue book is blue book. Same thing with repairs. People repair their cars and think that it all of a sudden upped the value cause they wanna get their money back. All it will do is differentiate whether the car is fair good or excellent condition.

    I agree with Chuckie...

But I wouldn't spend $15K on that car.
Not because it isn't nice or powerful, but because that is all it is worth.

Yeah but think about getting the same car with no mods. Still 15k right? All those mods saves you money by not having to do them yourself.

A car with no mods will often bring more than a car with mods. Especially crap like body kits.

The problem with mods is that you can never be quite sure they were properly installed.

And also, a modded car will only appeal to a certain buyer which limits your market.

How many times have you seen a car with a craptastically hideous body kit or paintjob and thought that there is NO WAY you would EVER be caught in that thing. Someone apparently thought it was cool. But they now have a limited number of potential buyers who agree with their tastes.

Engine mods can be perceived the same way. A grenade with the pin pulled. Especially turbo or supercharger kits since the potential for engine death is greatly increased.

Ever since that car came out.. I always wondered WHY people like that over the murcielago. I mean wtf people its not that fast and for fucks sake it doesn't even have LAMBORGHINI DOORS... If your going to look at a lambo look at a REAL lambo not some cut down box honda version of one.

    Miles are miles.
Regardless of what the motor has....the body has 68K or whatever it was.

If he can find the right buyer...he can get his money.
Modding is a risk we take. You are lucky to get cents back on the dollar on mods to a car.

I know I would be looking for a stock car if I was looking.
