any fishers here?
I have found my true love and calling and it is named long-line halibut fishing. Me and a buddy go out and lay down a long-line and I drag it up while he gaffs the fish. its like crack.

That looks like a lot of fun. My dive buddy and I go deep water spear fishing while scuba. We also dive abalone but we can't use scuba for that. Just an ab iron, knife, and a strong will. The rock pickers tend to get the ones close to shore so we go to like 30 feet depth to get the f'ers. But they're good eats.
Last time we went, an 18 foot great white was next to us. We almost shit our drysuits! Took 8 minutes to get back on shore.
Note to self: go ab hunting FIRST. Not spear fishing!!!!"I am the executioner. When a crime is committed and the exalted state does not take vengeance nor move to punish, then comes time for the executioner to declare himself. I have waited long enough. The criminals are hereby sentenced to death. By fire. By earth. By water."

i love fishing (my dad is actually in the business) we went halibut fishing when we went to alaska and brought back about 90lbs. so much fun! did u get any skates? (i think thats what they are called) they are kinda like sting rays, so they are really hard to pull up- they kept bitting our lines instead of the halibut. the salmon fishing up in ak is amazing too!

Damn mod that is quite a haul.
My favorite is still Salmon though. The meat is better than trout imo!

a lot! up there is mostly salmon and halibut- halibut is crazy because you are fishing in around 200' deep water with huge sinkers on the lines, salmon is in the rivers where there is just tons and tons of them. one place in alaska we went to, they would fish by taking a really bright colored hook and slapping it on the water which would make the fish bite it (really wierd to me)
florida is great too, but theres just nothing like alaska!
