Thank You for your service. The freedom I enjoy today was given in blood and sacrifice. I will never forget how I got the freedom. This days is to honor you for the service you give everyday. And to honor those who paid the ultimate price.

Saw a Marine Corps bumper sticker today,it said "my son fought in iraq so your son could party in college" really says it all doesen't it.thanks to all who have served!

It kinda upsets me that no one knows what this holiday is for. Its not a day to celebrate veterans. That is what veterans day in nov is for. Its not about men and women in uniform either, that is what armed forces day is for. This day is to remember the boys who are never coming home. They shouldn't have to share their holiday. It's theirs, and theirs alone. They've earned with with the ultimate sacrafice

So Im standing inline at customs yesterday .. Imagine 2 full 747s landing at the same time ... and ours was second because the platform got stuck and wouldnt go out to plane .. Im just getting in the back of a very ,, VERY, long line .. When this lady comes down the line asking if anyone was Vets or Active . I stepped out and said " Im a Veteran" . Not only did I get to go to the front of the line but we had our own line ... Yep it great to be a Vet....

did anyone watch the national memorial day parade yesterday? they interviewed a gentleman...a combat engineer from the battle of iwo jima who had won the medal of honor for his actions. they asked him if he would mind explaining how he came to be so highly decorated. he told them...

his LT asked him if he could take out these 3 or 4 pillboxes which had already taken down many many marines. he said he would try and his LT put four riflemen at his disposal to protect him while he went to work blowing up the bunkers. he said that two of those fine boys died protecting him that day and it was their medal not his...he was only the humble caretaker of it. gave me goosebumps and a tears to my eyes.
