our rule of thumb on our super stock motors was the larger the balancer the less harmonics but the slower the throttle response[ extra rotating weight]--we always used the smallest we could find off a 283 cid but long term i'd stay with the larger-we rebuilt our motors after a season on dirt [ about 20 nites of racing]
