I hate new camaros. I was saying that 4th gens weren't in the 12's either when you said it's about time ford did it.

I duno about '99, but the car that went 12.87 was a 2000 model (SS) being tested against a 2001 Cobra... In the year 2000 (I beleive)

SS was BONE stock... factory Goodyears, gears, and 1/4 tank of gas

But it did have the driver mod

Mr. Hamburger from SLP.... yes that is his name.... claims some hot shoe drag racer got a stock 4th gen they were testing down to like 12.6 he goes on to say that driving the car like that would not equal a long life to any drivetrain components..... it's just that such times are possible with the appropriate driver mods.

I should add that this was posted by Ed Hamburger on a Firehawk forum, can't remember where. Also the time was clocked at E-town.... a known "fast" track.

12.9's were attained with stock LS1's at some point, and at or near sea level..........Englishtown to be exact.
