This event held March 11-12th did not disappoint; even if your significant other is not into car shows, there are a variety of shops and restaurants that showcase local vintners' offerings. Friday evening, Old Town Front Street was closed down to regular traffic allowing only the classics, rods, and racecars to cruise until 8pm. Saturday morning started off under overcast skies, but it did nothing to dampen the spirit of the car show participants and attendees. Vendors offered a variety of parts and accessories aimed at auto enthusiasts. Even the side streets and parking lots were filled with classic Buicks, Fords, Chevys, and even a Fiat. The Rod Run is free to the public, but the event is designed to assist local non-profit organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County, and the American Cancer Society. If you missed the spring event there is no need to worry because the Rod Run will be back in October with more cars, music, and fun for the whole family.
