*** First Fool to Post - The April TRAIN ***

Spent yesterday moving my step-son's family's household and storing most of it in our building... which means that the trailer now officially resides outdoors. Their house is being sold on Friday and it looks like their new home is probably not going to be ready until late summer.

worked in the garage all day yesterday. built a shelf for the stereo to sit on, hung up the fire extinguisher under that. hung up the rest of my posters and tin signs, rebuilt the subwoofer enclosure in the firebird and started sanding the silver paint off the new box for the ram. today looks like an entire day of sanding still, hopefully getting far enough along to do some minor dent repairs.

Back from my Mecca trip to Cowboy country.....where my family lives you couldn't tell there was economical crunch over the last 5 yrs since I last visited. Can't throw a rock without running into construction of homes, business or roads. God the roads suck. They have so much road ways getting bigger, more lanes or just repaired that getting around is a tasking.

Romo retires from Cowboys June 1st.

heard that on the radio this morning. There's talk of him announcing.

got home at a decent time this afternoon so I fired up the smoker since it wasn't raining. last night, with intentions of just grilling and finishing in the oven, I butterflied a backstrap. seasoned the inside with salt, pepper, and minced garlic. cut two big wedges of onion and closed it up. ran a skewer through the open side a few times to hold it all together and smothered the outside with Catalina salad dressing. put it all in a Ziploc bag and let it sit. Two hours over hickory smoke at ~250° and this was the result.

It was. Not pictured was the onion from the middle, decided to can that since it devoted all of it's flavor to the meat. Definitely going to make it again sometime.

Yeah, at best it was 50°. I had it out of the fridge for maybe an hour while I got the coals going.

I did burgers and dogs on the grill today....first time I've had it lit since superbowl. Been slacking. I have a few cooks coming up though. Memorial weekend out in PA and my neighbors son is having a graduation party and requested my bbq for the party.

It's time for a new grill. The rim on the catch can is ripping off the steel, I broke the bottom of one of the legs off last year and have had a brick underneath it since to keep it level. It's lived a good long life.

that's how it goes. I'm really tempted to amass some parts and build my own damn grill. tired of shit wearing out after a few years. I have nearly an unlimited supply of cast iron burners etc that I can use, so why not.

So this is one of the reasons I like doing business with Autogeek for detailing supplies. Got an email this morning from FedEx saying there was a problem with my delivery. They destroyed the box during shipping and the contents in it burst open. Before I even finished reading it I got an email from Autogeek that they had already placed a new order for me and was prepping it for shipment. Wish more companies would realize that's good customer service. Makes people more willing to spend extra on items that they may find cheaper elsewhere.

Careful you might make Tim jealous....

I had a appliance guy come look this morning. $80 to confirm what I already know.

He said it's fixable but by the time he tracks down where the leak is and what it is, the cost would go well into paying for half a new one.

Wife is out looking for one around $500-1000 to get us by till we can afford one she likes. As long as it does it's job I'm find. I don't need a screen to let me see what's in there, or have it connect to the wifi for what I don't know?

I know what you mean. I am in the process of looking at motorcycles.... when we get a 3000 dollar medical bill. Thanks children's hospital for billing our insurance 7,000 dollars for an hour visit. Where's that money coming from.... John's motorcycle down payment. BALLZ

I only use charcoal grills so the only thing that can wear out is the frame and steel body. This grill is probably 10-15 years old and was a gift... it has served it's purpose

Sarah tried to burn ours and the house down the other day. Pull up to the fire department at the house. She didn't tell me she planned on grilling out and the grill was in need of a good cleaning.
