Is $22,000 a fair price for 2002 WS6?
Hi guys! Just wanted to get your opinion? Is $22,000 a fair price to pay for a 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6 with 34,000 miles in like new condition? Its from a dealership. They said that it is priced to sell at that price. So what do you guys think? Is it a fair price? Thanks a lot!

From a dealer, it strikes me as reasonable. That said, I think you could find a better deal somewhere else (private party).

I'd say no....but some would buy it, I wouldn't pay more then 19 out the door. But the time is creepin up and so are the prices during spring/summer for sport car verts and t-tops....if you're going to buy one get one before the weather gets a lot better.

OK, my Z with all options brand new in 2002 was 21 K.
I'de pay 18,000 tops for a 02 WS6 now, there are plenty of WS6's out there, now if it was a fully loaded Firehawk..I could see. hmmm those were 34 K in 02.
KBB is 21,600 now in Cali for a dealer 02 WS6TA
mine KBB's at 18,400 considering both at 40 k miles
Lookin at those KBB numbers and knowing what I paid in 02 it sounds about right 'cause a 02WS6TA back in the day was about 24 after a lot of finaglin at the dealer.
But my WTF meter still pegs out 'cause of what I paid -
Bottom line - I'de pay it if I was deperate for it but common sense says wait for the better deal.04 C5 A4 Torch Red - sold
2009 CTS4 Ice Black - sold
2013 1500 Silverado Z71 - sold
02 Z/28 M6 Onyx Black All Options - Sold
2014 Caddy CTS4 - DD
2016 Silverado 2500HD

No, that is not a good deal at all. Before my Zo6, I had a perfect condition 2002 T/A for 16K. On this forum, there are several people with tons of Fbody pride that would willingly pay 22k for that same T/A.. Just be patient and do some research, then you will find a good fbody for mid to high teens..

Sticker was close to $21K, after haggling & 2K down, paid $19,998 out the door for the car, extended warranty, and all that dealer add on crap!
Few months after I got mine, my bud up in Dover, DE picked up a damn near perfect '02 Firehawk (T/A) with under 20K miles, warranty, and M6, for about $20K.

$22K is not out of line with book (dealer) prices, but it is on the high end. I would keep looking. The killer deals are out there just have to be patient & look. I looked for 2 years before I found one (low miles WS6) in my price range. I would have preferred an M6, but that conversion can always come later, after the warranty dies.
You should be able to find one $16K - $18K, excellent to good condition, reasonable miles.
FYI: Price today of mine with original 16K miles

Personally, I'd rather spend a little bit more and get a Vette.

KBB private party value is $19,375. This car has over $13k in parts added to it. I'm asking $23,500 obo. (This is close to what you'd pay retail for stock version, so financing should not be an issue.)
2002 Sunset Orange Metallic Trans Am WS6 (1 of ~500 2002 SOM WS6s produced)
31000 miles
Stock options:
6 speed
SOM exterior, Ebony interior
WS6 Performance Package
Hurst shifter
Why: I simply don't make time to enjoy this car anymore. With 2 kids, I make it to very few car-related activities. (No car shows in over a year. No charity events in almost a year. No autocrosses in almost 3 years. No drag strip in over a year.) This car is currently only used as a daily driver from my garage to my covered parking at work.
Over $4k in engine/drivetrain parts.
Over $3k in suspension/steering parts.
Over $3k in interior/electronics parts.
Over $2k in unique appearance parts.
This car is in excellent condition.Last edited by 1badchicken; 03-08-2006 at 12:16 PM.

Taupe/Red- 2001 Trans Am Conv
Really 'like new"?
I guess the key question is, "really like new"?? If easy highway miles and babied, then yeah, probably very few problems down the road, thus saving money. I would definitely insist on knowing who the owner was and not just take the dealer's word for it. A little homework will help you sleep after purchase. Definitely haggle a little though. Try anyway. Walk away if not 100% satisfied with your findings. Ebay is loaded with low mileage F-bodies and it is worth travelling for something so important. Just be careful of all the TX cars. LA dumped everything into TX after the hurricanes. Just a 'red flag' to watch out for. Good luck!

That is exactly what I paid for my 2002 WS6 fully loaded from a dealer about 6 months ago, so I would say yes, but you could find one cheaper, but look quick b4 spring and summer are here, then prices get jacked.
