I need some performance numbers
Hey all,
I'm new to this and bought a 2002 T/A WS6 with 12Kmiles for $24K. I need to know if the car came with a ZO6 intake, HP and TQ stock. Also any good tips on where I should start modding it with what brands would be a big help too!
Thanks
B

First of all congrats on the purchase! Your car has a LS6 intake, 01-02 cars were upgraded with them. As far as Hp & TQ #'s, they differ from car to car. But you should see with an '02 anywhere from 310-320 hp at the rear wheels and tq usually comes in a little higher, maybe around 320-330. Best thing to do is hit the dyno though and get a nice baseline for your mods.
As far as mods go the first 2 should be an aftermarket airlid($100) and a nice set of weld in Sub Frame Connectors($200-$225 installed). Lid will give you a nice intro to the cars intake along with an 8-10 hp jump at the wheels and SFC's will keep the underside of your car from twisting with further mods. After that a catback and some LT headers should be on order for some real power gains.
Also check into the free mods, every little bit adds up. FRA! is an easy one to start with. Also get rid of your skip shift with a .99 resistor from Radio Shack and I would also look into a short throw shifter from Ebay for $25-$35.
