Unveiled just blocks from the Las Vegas Strip, the 2014 Chevrolet COPO Camaro made its big debut at SEMA preparing to hit a different kind of strip. This purpose-built drag car is pretty much a carryover from recent COPO cars, with just 69 planned for production, and with the new 2014 Camaro styling.

Looking to stage up against Mustang Cobra Jets and Challenger Drag Paks, the 2014 COPO Camaro offers racers the option of three V8 engines - a naturally aspirated 427-cubic-inch V8 or supercharged 350- and 396-cubic engine. The COPO also comes with a roll cage, solid rear axle and some massive Hoosier drag slicks out back.

Matching its sometimes-trailer-queen status, the COPO was sitting on the show floor being towed behind a painted-to-match 2015 Chevy Silverado HD dually. Aside from the color, the truck has also been SEMA-fied with aluminum wheels and a handful of Chevy accessories.

No word yet on pricing for the COPO (or when production will commence), but the first to roll off the assembly line will be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson in January.2014 Chevrolet COPO Camaro ready to hit the strip originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 05 Nov 2013 14:02:00 EST.
