It does. You mean drive by wire, right?
(This way the government can take control of your car if you are driving in a manner they don't approve.)

Correct. I believe that all new GM vehicles are now running the electronic throttle set ups. Personally, I do not care for them. My Cadillac has noticeable lag when you stomp it to jump out into traffic. First time it happened scared the hell out of me. My brother has a Dodge Caliber and its electronic throttle went bad last year. Made for an interesting ride -- you'd be going down the road and all of a sudden the car would start bucking and a light would come on in the dash -- looked like a lightening bolt between two vertical bars. We had to go look at the manual to see what that meant and then hooked up the scanner to confirm it.

Yup. It's to have computer controlled throttle for fuel economy reasons. Just stupid IMO.

I kinda figured it did, to me that's a waste of a throttle body ...I mean there are probably some advantages to having an electronic(drive by wire) tv, but I think that a cable driven tv is a lot better.....for example throttle response.

Drive-by-wire eliminates the need for a separate cruise control module, and the sometimes messy traction control module, idle air control valve.
But still, I'd rather control the TB, instead of a PCM interpretting my ''requests'' and then deciding whether or not to allow the throttle I want, and when I want it, how fast I want it, etc.
They are pricey when they go bad. We've replaced a lot of Trailblazer DBW assemblies, and some Ford trucks have had to be reflashed for laziness.
