    Engines

What is the basic horsepower of all of the engines, the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS4, and the LSX?

    LS1-320
    LS6-400
    LS3-430
(these i know off the top of my head)
the 402/408 stroker iron blocks are also popular on here and TECH

bolt-ons and tune will range these numbers greatly. internals....that much more.
it all depends on what you put into them. people with ls1s can embarrass a Z06.

then again. numbers are just for bragging rights... dont get caught up in HP/TQ numbers...
i was the same. what matters is 1/4 mile times.

    with that being said...
    why do you ask?
if you are planning to drop a new engine in there...
what are your goals and what is currently done with the car?

    The car is all stock.

No, I'm not planning on getting a bigger motor. I just think a person should know as much as he can about engines and whats out there.

Thanks for the breif engine lesson.

There is a significant difference between flywheel horsepower and rear wheel horsepower. Assuming you have an M6, subtracting approximately 12% for driveline losses results in your "350" having measured rwhp of right around 309.

Well... I read that and thought he was saying his GTO was rated for 350 h.p., not that it was 350 cubes. Going back, I guess that is what he meant though. Thanks Steven.
