I hear ya... I was racing my 99 camaro one time , dropped it to 2nd gear at about 55-60 and bent 4 pushrods, but thats it... nothing else got messed up. That I think speaks loudly about how tough those motors are.

Well I finally got the kit installed, but when they sent it out didnt have the 2.85 in stock had to go with the 2.90 instead.. The car made right under 380 at the tires with 8 lbs of boost. The tuner said the stock torque convetor was starting to slip pretty badd between the shifts; as a result it is lower than normal on the dyno... I guess now need to see about a PI 2800-3200 triple disc convertor. He said with a better convertor he could throw more timing at it... My AF looked right at 14.1 through the pull. Never had a roots before... man the torque is right off idle..... I'll keep you posted...

14:1 AFR? Umm if that's not a typo I would have it looked at....

I am not a guru but 12:1 AFR on gas should be closer to the "safe" limit. Just trying to save you from pouring more money furds direction on pistons...

The gear are stock 3.31 ,which I would like to change to 4.10's when I go with the other torque convertor.

Nice save! As far as the 4.10s go, that sounds like a riot!

Also found out the stock Maggie intake sucks balls.. going with a Tuneable Induction cai; they were telling me not changing the pulley should see about a 1-1.5 lbs of boost increase... sheezz just dosent stop.. then need a larger heat exchanger, gears ,full lenghts and ordering the PTC torque convertor this week.. At this point probably would been easier to just buy a nice used C6 with the LS3 or a 08-09 Shelby GT500. I still have weak ass rods and pistons.

Hilarious. Do it! Whatever you have to do to satisfy your itch for more. You only live once
