Sounds good and all, but I wonder how long that stock bottom held up to 13.5 psi. I'd be willing to bet not long.

Last I heard he had 30k on the motor since the turbo install. However, 13.5 psi is mainly on track days. He runs 9 psi on the street (he also drives like a senior citizen). I was just making a point that it can be done, and with a good tune it will hold up fine for track days and such imo.

Yea, I'd have to agree also.....I wouldn't expect the think to last over 100K.....afraid that's the price we pay when we start adding power adders.....I dont care how good the tune is....the wear and tear is multiplied when you get over the 500hp mark on stock internals....

I believe they had a write up in GM High Performance a few issues back.....I believe they post on another site we wont talk about......

I'm not sure where they are in Ohio but they know their stuff when it comes to turbo cars......just saw your avitar and Ohio and I remembered their car at the shootout....just wondered if you knew them...

Their F-body car was driven on the street and then turned around and ran a 7 second pass......

    You're right the GTO isn't a f-body car.....

Do you happen to know what their 7-second F-body is powered by?

I'm pretty sure it's an LS2 based 6-bolt sleeved setup from ERL.

The only reason I know is that 2 of RPM's cars here in Richmond have that block. One of them ran a 9.05 at 156 in full street trim (17" wheels even and through a cat-back) a few weeks back. The other car has 427 cubes and there are two 78mm turbos in boxes by the car

Seriously? We have had some around here in that 550 zone, but they had a bad ass tune.

has anyone ever built an remote mounted turbo system. i mean the setup doesnt seem very hard. the only problem i imagine would be the oil pump. any advice on an oil pump? would i be able to buy an STS's oil pump from them. the sts kits just seem way to over priced for something i could fab up myself. Plus I dont think they make an STS kit for an LS1 swapped 240sx
