Alright... as some ppl have seen me on here before i just put a sts turbo kit on my ls1 engine that just resently gave out due to me being stupid and driving the car without a tune. Now i have seen many ppl taking the ls1 to a 402 ci stroker kit. I will be keeping the turbo but I need to start building an engine where the car could be a street and strip car (more strip) not a daily driver. Now i do have a budget but willing to spend a lil money on some good hp! What do ya'll think?

-keep the original ls1 with 40k miles keeping the turbo, throw a cam, and good set of heads and whatever else i need to keep up with the turbo.

-get the 402 stroker kit and keeping the turbo and limit the goods such as keeping the stock heads and just changing the cam etc....

-or sell the turbo, do the 402 ci kit and use the money to buy some really good heads, cam etc...

and if ya'll have other ideas working with what i got throw them out there!

I'll have to disagree with the masses here....
Granted, I'm not an LS1 expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I've been playing with musclecars for 20 years now.

If I wanted a cammed out V8 that hauls ass and gets 12 MPG, I'd build a 60's-70's musclecar.

I love the turbo because the engine can stay "basically" stock. You still get great gas mileage, and the wife can take the car to the store if needed because it still "feels" like a stock car until you hammer it. You don't need a loud exhaust, and the average onlooker (or officer!) can't tell if you have a 15 second car or an 11 second car even when it's running.

    Other that that, all stock.
