    Self tune after Turbo install?

I found a turbo system for cheap in the local paper, and I have a buddy who has tuned both of our cars pretty well with small mods, after a turbo install do you think it would be ok to have him tune it, or should i still take it to a shop and put it on the dyno. Basically can a person who knows their way around a programmer tune a new turbo good?

thats like givin someone your stick car who's never driven one and tellin him to go learn on it....it "could" be ok, but do ya really wanna take the chance??

DO NOT cut corners when you go Forced induction...it may and will cost you more in the end. just my opinion ofcourse. if ya feel comfortable with him doin it, its your car...goodluck

With FI there's alot more to tune for than n/a. You wouldn't want someone who marginally knows what to do. If there's an oversight or lack of knowledge....it WILL cost you dearly. IMO

How far away are you from our site sponsor LSxTune.com?? You should contact Frost as he is that sponsor and very knowledgeable about the twin turbos.

Hey man. If you could, would you send me a PM with the info about who you found around here to do yours. I might need to get a tune in the not too distant future.

The LSxTune would be great, but that is a pretty decent shot away from our neck of the woods

About 500 miles to Richmond, but it is a pretty drive. That may be the route that I go though if I can't find someone who does good work a little closer. At least then, I'd know it was done by one of the best.
