what is a shell type? Roots don't whine, they are quiet until WOT, centrifugals whine at idle and light cruise.

If that is your car in your avatar that is back-halved, I'd say ya missed sleep by about 50 miles

sorry i meant like a procharger vs a magna. which style would be best as for as the whine at idle and low rpm cruise.

and no thats not my car just a dream.

once i'm done it'll have the stock wheels on it and the stock hood no badges and the side molding will be gone. i'm keeping the corsa (pretty quite) and adding elect. cut outs.

Centrifugals like the Procharger have a whine at idle that sounds like a bad pulley bearing rattle. Not a very good sound IMO, but it does make it obvious that the car is Supercharged. In low RPM cruising, you will not make much if any boost. The procharger is like a turbo in that it needs higher RPM's to make boost.

A magnacharger, which is a roots type supercharger, it 100% quiet at idle. The bypass valve is open, so you'd never know its there if the hood is closed. It only makes noise (blower whine) when its making boost. It can also make boost at virtually any RPM, as long as you give it enough throttle to get the engine out of vacuum. For that reason it can provide great low end power when you need it.
