Reducing the turbo noise?
So I am putting togeather a 383 LT1 with a garrett t-76 turbo. Its gonna be a street/track car. Already have the bolt ons and the car its going into, and most of the suspenion parts also. I have the turbo and intercooler already, plans are to put it in the engine compartment now. My question is, is there any way to muffel the sound of the turbo? I dont want every ricer and everyone else who thinks that they have a fast car to come running everytime they hear the turbo spool up.

teal- 99 Z28 with an SS complex
they make specific mufflers, i am not sure which one would help you though.
You can also get a resonator that should help.

I had thought about rear mounting it and running the exhasut form the turbo, spliting it off to a y and then putting SLP LM1s beside it to help drown it out. But I know they are TERRIBLY LOUD to begin with. I have no idea how loud it would be with that much more exhaust going through them. But that wont work with the turbo mounted by the motor, they just wouldnt be able to hear it from behind me. Thanks I'll look into it.
