noisy oil pump sts turbo
hey guys, new to this sight. Have a sts turbo system on my 2000 trans am .oil pump for turbo is mounted on underside of car behind rear driverside seat. any way to quiet it down. I don't hear it while driving or with radio loud but just sitting still seems loud

The noise level of the sts oil pump is the nature of the beast. Every STS oil pump I have installed and on my own vehicle is noisy. Now if it gets to the point where you can hear it plain as day while driving there might be a problem. If you personally don't like the noise there may be a slightly quieter pump on the market but I'm not sure.

anyway of using some material ( thick rubber, etc. ) as a sound dampener

It might be possible but be aware that it may cause the oil pump to collect and retain heat instead of releasing it which coul possibly cause premature failure.
