Meth Kit
So I ran into a pretty detailed thread about methanol injection on here from a few years back and being that I hopefully will be installing a Procharger come spring time of next year I am really considering going this route now.
As I understand it, methanol injection makes the forced air charge denser, which lowers intake air temperature and also allows you to play with the timing more. I also believe this in turn could allow you to run higher boost levels with a motor that has a higher CR.
The one thing I didn't see that I was curious about was with the meth kit, how much methanol is used in conjunction with the fuel? I don't know how large the methanol tanks are, I assume there are various sizes. But assume I have a few gallon tank, how long can I expect the methanol to last before a refill is required?
Also, for those of you who have one installed, where did you mount it? Pics would be awesome. I thought I seen some using the windshield reservoir and other relocating the battery to free up space while others mounted the tank in the rear.
Thanks,
Jon

Haha I was just looking this up myself earlier today. I ran across a thread that mentioned a 2 quart tank would last for a full tank of gas. Seems like it will be pretty pricey if you drive your car frequently. I also looked up the alkycontrol kit and it was either 559.99or 599. I can't remember but that was just for the single nozzle setup. It also looks low u get a substantial power boost as well from it.

I also read something about corrosion when using a 100 percent mixture and not 50/50. Either way I honk well both have to look into this b4 the procharger install

I have the resivor in place of the washer fluid. my pump is mounted up front around the intercooler. the controler is inside and the leds are on the guage pod.
I have a alky control kit on mine and run 100% meth in mine.
Thanks,
Mark

God, Long tubes are not legal; is this a real concern?

I also have the Alky Control system. Replaces the windshield wiper reservoir, pump is located behind the grill. Using a 100% mix is making full use of what the methanol properties can do. Why reduce the capabilities with something watered down? Alky Control designed their equipment to NOT corrode from using a full meth mixture.

It's definitely awesome stuff!

How much is it to refill the reservoir? And how long does it last?

That's like asking "how long does gas last" or "how long do twizzlers last" for that matter.
How many nozzles will you use? What size will they be? What does the pressure curve look like on the meth? What is the initial volume set at? What is the turn on point of the kit? What is the range of boost it's covering? How big is your tank?
With that said, a 5 gallon can used to last me a long time (2-6 months).

On a one nozzle set up with a conservative amount of pressure. Like a daily driver set up. Are we talking refilling the reservoir every time I fill up for gas or what?

And I meant in the wiper fluid reservoir. Not some 5 gallon tank in the back although 2-6 months seems like a decent amount of time

I thought about that exact thing after I asked. I guess what I was referring to was it being mounted in the engine compartment and it being so highly flammable. I assumed that the tank was probably corrosion resistant. I didn't know if most people mounted them up front or out back.

Personally, I wouldn't run a Forced Induction car without meth - especially on todays pump fuel...
How long a tankful lasts depends on how you drive really - it only sprays under boost... How heavy is your foot?
