LS1 f-body & Roots blower?
Would the C5 vette roots blower work on a f-body with minor modifications or would it be a pain in the ass? I'd love to have a Kenne Bell or something similar on my 98 but am leary as to whether it would fit under the cowl or not. I am doing a Kenne Bell 2.2L on the LS6 that is going in my third gen but that's a ways down the road. I need to spank a C6 vette is the reason I'm considering this route, keep in mind my car is a automatic. Post some pics of a Roots type blower if it's been done, I'd like to see one. Thanks

heads/cam/procharger... you will spank a vette. I dont think any roots style will fit.

I need to buy a stall converter and throw this cam in the car, what kind of heads would be good for the money? I haven't really done much research on the heads yet. I've allready done most of the supporting mods, everything on the outside of the motor anyway.

This is one on an lt1. The guy lives in Clarksville, TN so you might be able to drop by and take a look in person. His name is NXSLT1 on LS1TECH.com.

Here's vid of it... I know it's an LT1 but could still be adapted to an LS1 if you had the time and patience. http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...tsblownlt1.flv

Thanks for the pics! That looks sweet but I don't much like the idea of cutting into the cowl. I guess a pro-charger is about the easiest and best way to make good power with a heads and cam set-up. Stuff like this just costs money and the wife tries to control every damn thing so it might be a while before I can get enough money saved up in my secret account. That's bad isn't it?! Having to save money without her knowing otherwise I wouldn't ever see it. Just a cam and stall with a tune should be enough to run with a stock C6 vette shouldn't it? There is a guy that works up the road from me that just bought a blue C6 vert that wants to run me.

Trust me... you might as well get what you want now, rather than get "good enough" for now, only to switch parts later. Get a stall and cam, but get one that compliments a blower for later. Same for heads... bigger chambers so they flow better for your needs later. Big thing is injectors and fuel system, get one that will work for you later, not the bare minimum for now. I switched combos twice before I nailed down the one I have now. and the only way I could keep the boss happy was to do stuff on the house at the same time. She's got her new flooring and paint, I got my twin turbos. I'm a lucky guy.... stupid girl!!!!
