Low Boost S/C?
I'm playing with some ideas of putting on a S/C sometime this year but I want to keep it on low boost (for now )
I drive the car everyday, so I still want it to be reliable. So my question is, what kind of supercharger would be best for me? Also, what kind of numbers would I be looking at with full bolt ons, heads/cam, and the S/C?
Any info would be great, and if you guys have any links to somebody who sells what I need that would help too, so I could price it out.
Thanks a lot

You could run a Procharger and keep it under 8# on a stock block.
Tuning and enough fuel is the key.Black 1999 Blown Convertible A4

Or you could run a Vortech V-9 G-trim with aftercooler, stock block, etc...( and GOOD tune )

I went with the Procharger because I didn't want my cut my SS hood, or drill the oil pan and have the top of the engine in-accessible.

I bought mine from Bob @ EPP. Stock engine should get you about 425-450 rwhp.

i mean with full bolt ons/heads and cam.
also one more question, I'm kinda getting worried because I'm getting my exhaust done right now, got QTP LT headers, and right now they're putting on a 2.5" X pipe over the axle. Originally I wanted 3" but he said he couldn't fit it, so we had to do 2.5". Will this restrict me later on down the road?
I know it will be fine for me right now, but if I end up pushing like 550-600 HP will I need to change the 2.5" and put in a 3"?

nah i won't be doing it all at once, it would take me a maybe 4-5 months to get the money together for the s/c, and I would like to do heads/cam asap. I'll be happy with a strong 450 hp car for now lol
oh but while we're talking.. what do you think I should do first, fast 90/nw throttle body or heads/cam?

Red- 2001 Camaro SS A4
how safe is it to run boost on a stock block? And would 500HP be acheivable with a procharger and H/C on a stock block?
Also...for a procharger...how do you not have to tap the oil pan? Do you have to tap the block?

well i know w/ full bolt ons and a good head/cam setup you can get around 450, so I'd imagine you would be what.. 600+?
