    ITB with Turbo??

Hey Im just seeing what yalls opinion is...has anyone done individual throttle bodies with turbo...and if so is it worth the money to do it??? My plan is a twin setup w/ 8 to 8.5 compression and 30 or so psi boost. Waiting till i graduate school in a couple months to start and just getting ideas together now...any thoughts?

By individual TB's do you mean like that intake from australia with the 8 individual TB's on it? Think hilborn turned on it's side. Someone somewhere is probably doing it but the cost of that intake is several grand alone. My question is why would you want to. I'm also pretty sure not many people out there are running 30 psi of boost on an ls1. Maybe with one of the lsx blocks or something but anything else, no way.

Right...i just havent heard of anyone doin ITBs so i figured i would ask...and I met a guy here in Nashville that ran a single turbo ls1 pushing 30 psi ( of course upgraded internals) and has been runing it for 8-9 months no problem yet... and pushing 800 hp...im sure it can be done with the right machinist along with doing it right and not trying to do it cheaply

if he's running 30 psi on an ls1 and only making around 800, I'd be a bit skeptical. I'd ask to see a dyno graph or something showing that amount of boost or what he's doing to keep the heads down.

Well I saw dyno graphs because I was there we did it at Nashville auto diesel college...I failed to mention that he broke traction on the dyno at 30 psi and the highest psi he could reach on dyno was 24 psi which was the 800...the next time i see him I ask for specs on everything he has done and let you know but I aint shitin yah man

    Interesting concept.

I think to do it correctly you would have to do some research into runner length vs powerband and other characteristics.

That being said, you most certainly are better off, since the displacement of the ls' allows for running a high flowing lower pressure turbo or twins (since youre thinking itb) and make the same power levels at lower psi and most importantle less heat.
