Talking I want A BLOWER OUT MY HOOD!!!

    Hey everybody,
I am trying to find some company that offers a blower that sticks out of the hood of my 1998 trans am with a 2002 ls1. I have seen it done before at a car show but the owner wouldn't tell me(what an asshole). I understand that most people haven't heard of a blower to go on a fuel-injected ls1 but I was just wondering.

Not sure but I think someone is making a carb intake for the LS1's and thats probly how they got the blower to stick out the hood. Like the older carb blowers.

Yeah I saw one of those carb kits but I would hate to get rid of my fuel injection. Somebody offers a kit that allows you to keep your fuel injection and put a different intake manifold to allow a blower.

Well you couldnt have one in the tradition sense because it would be in the windshield lol, Your best bet would to just get one mounted to the hood and use it as an intake to an SC

Ok, maybe its just me, but I've never heard of such a thing for a 93+ F-body.

Parts of the engine are under the base of the windshield - so do you really want the blower sticking up there?

I found a video of somebody that has one. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...5E1E4AF0BF.htm . The part is at 1:10 in the counter. It looks kick ass.

He had to cut the cowl and use a custom windshield for that to work. The engine sits way to far back in our cars to allow that type of set up, that would be my guess as to why nobody really makes a roots type blower for the Fbody but they do for the trucks and gtos, there really isn't much clearance under the cowl.

Modify a centrifugal supercharger bracket so the blower sits up high through the hood (if it`s even possible). The hole will be off to one side of the hood but could be balanced out on the other side with the stainless or chrome intake piping bulging out over there.

I bet he did a lot more than that. I'd say there's about a 2% chance tht careven has an LS1 in it. I've never seen a big 71 series blower for one. That's probably a big block chevy, probably has motor plates or a tube chassis to accomodate it. Looks like its probably been back-halved as well.

Not that it isn't cool, but the blower would be the least expensive part of all the modifications required to make that happen.

Very true, I didn't really look to closely at the car but I bet your right.
