    Cool F-1R Procharger on a 427LSX

Does anyone think this will be overkill on my new 427 LSX motor? Was originally building a 454 but decided to go FI for drivability and for the sexxi whine.

Specs on the D1SC - F-1R listed below for comparison:

    Model Specifications
    D-1SC F-1 F-1A F-1C F-1R
    Volute Diameter 9" 9" 9" 9.75" 9.75"
    Max S/C HP 925 1050 1100 1225 1300
    Base HP of Motor 300-500 300-500 300-500 300-550 375-550
    Max Flow (cfm) 1400 1525 1650 1850 2000
    Max boost (psi) 32 38 38 38 38
    Inlet Hose Dia 3.75" 3.75" 3.75" 4.0" 4.0"
    Inducer Diameter 3.37" 3.75" 3.50" 3.7" 4.0"
    Exducer Diameter 6.25" 6.0" 5.5" 5.5" 6.0"
    Outlet Hose Dia 3" 3" 3" 3" 3"
    Outlet I.D. 2.62" 2.62" 2.62" 2.62" 2.62"
    Max Impeller RPM 62,000 70,000 74,000 74,000 68,000
    Internal Step-up 4.10:1 5.4:1 5.40:1 5.40:1 5.4:1
Reverse Rotation Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
Self Contained Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
    Oil Capacity 6 oz 4 oz 4 oz 4 oz. 4 oz

    Main questions are:

Will there be any fitment issues? I know some parts WILL have to be modified to fit in T/A engine bay with the 427....

Is the F-1R too big of a SC for street use?

Will the basic D1SC get me to 800hp? Or would i need an "F" model?

What major modifications, if any, will be needed for an "F" model rather then the D1SC model?

Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

The 427 is the same size as the stock LS1.

To fit the F-1R there will be fitment issues.
Even the F1A creates minor problems.

Well i don't need that much excessive power of the F-1R espically if there is going to be fitment issues which i dont need. So i guess since i'm looking for power around 800rwhp, i'll go with the F-1A (minor issues i can work around). Not a massive difference between the F-1R but better then the D1SC IMO.

12 rib setup im assuming for the F-1A?

Anything else i should know about the F-1A vs. D1SC?

    Thanks again!

Figured i could get the 427 LSX, ETP C6R heads P&P, reasonable cam 230 max lift basic duration 114lsa, have 1 7/8 stainless kooks headers, true dual 3" exhaust, Fast LSX intake and 102mm lingenfelter TB etc etc....

With the right parts, race gas and a good tune on lets call it 20# should be able to hit 800RWHP easy no? 800RWHP is my goal, anymore then that would be even better!

I really wanna stay away from meth injection. Although i would love to have it, isnt it a pain to install everything for meth and not so practical like for cruises and stuff??

Hm, never knew that.... That doesn't sound too bad at all... With doing that do u do a split reservoir or do u not use your windshield wiper fluid again?

Not that i care, my cars always spotless and cant remember the last time i used it but just curious.. Any sites around that sell a kit or it is a custom build?

Properly built....you would only need 12-13 PSI (through an M6) to get there.

Dan made 725RWHP through a 9" and built A4. 347 seeing 13-14PSI from an F1A with meth. Oh yeah....pump gas.

Boost is a measurement of restriction. 20 pounds on a 427 is gonna be hard to come by.

Just said 20# as a number throwing it out there... Would probably stay at 12-15#... Basically looking for 800RWHP+ and atleast a 9.xxx pass and still keep the car street drivable (thats my challenge)... I know 9s 1/4 depends mostly on suspension, launch and driver but if i have the HP to get me there then all it will take is some practice.... This build has A LOT of thought and A LOT of research so i just want to get it right... Sorry if some of the questions seem basic or boarder line dumb but i want to make sure i have all the facts straight before piecing things together.. Thanks for your input! Keep it coming!

Honestly....the F1A will get you there.
Minor fitment issues....and people WILL know you are coming. lol
I had Dan follow me down a mountain road and any time he was close I could hear him.

To what level do you want your car to tech too? 9.99 and faster requires a LOT of shit. In my opinion...if you have it on the car, you are no longer a street car.

Ditch the F1 for F2 and a COG.

    Really.

Otherwise you wasted a pile of money on that 6-bolt engine with all of the goodies.

The fitment im not worried about, i can always do some custom work to make it fit.. The sound just downright turns me on lol

I know that running sub 10 will require NHRA approved roll cage along with other crap... I want to be able to tech in for the track and basic street driving... I have a guy who can pass me for inspection so i can still drive the car on the street... I figured with the F1A, i can still drive the car around town and to meets and the track without having to worry about dumb issues such as a massive cam and stalling out and surging if i had an N/A/ build.

I wanted to challenge myself to be able to build a 9s car, that i can still drive on the street, have the A/C and all other functions working and still have a sick (tech approved) track car. I know its a pain in the ass to do it this way but i figured that it would make the build that much more interesting..

I have a TRUCK (Regency short bed) with a 427 LSX, TFS heads, single plane intake, etc, that is getting an F2 in the shop right now. It made 500rwhp without the blower and it's low compression!

The F1 will be on it's face by 1Krwhp, and you don't need all of that fancy motor to get you there. Your bottom end should be good to about 1,800.

Isn't the F2 bigger by comparison to the F1? Differences in inlet hose, inducer/exducer diameter and volute diameters are all much bigger.

Whats the difference between the F1 and F2 w/ COG? Price, performance, driveability, PITA factor?
