You can certainly lose boost by adding on headers. Headers are less restrictive than stock manifolds, so more air is able to exit the motor. Hence less boost. Hope that makes sense.

D1's can put cars in the nines, P1's can put them in mid-low 10s, the F-series are bottom 9s and faster.

This is assuming the car has more than just the SC alone; it has what it needs to make the SC work.

Right now my 02 ss camaro runs 12.3 118 mph on a 420 horse power tune. Waiting for my tune guy to install my 3.2" pulley and adjust my race tune to max horse power which is close to 500 and then see what my new quarter mile times are this saturday I hope.

pulley installed. I really make the true 7 psi of boost now and track time on the 5th of July to test the quarter mile times.

    fuel air ratio

What should the desired air fuel mixture be set at? I've seen blogs say anywhere from 12.5 to 14.7. So, what is the right setting?

Thanks for that input. I seem to get a small back fire shifting from 2nd speed to 3rd speed every once in awhile. It doesn't matter warm or cold. Is that something to worry about?

It could be that the short-pulse tables in the PCM need some work for those larger-than-stock injectors... I don't know what makes you worry, so I don't know if you should be At worst, it is hurting your fuel economy. At best, it is probably hurting mileage far less than your right foot

So, what should I be changing then to make it stop backfiring from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. I'm using a jet program for my tuning.
