    Big blower cams...

I'm upgrading to 382 over the winter, and will be swapping my cam too.

I want a smooth idle, but appreciate I probably cant have that.
I need to make good power from 4500-6500rpm which is where I mostly see when Im racing, even if I dont get the chance as often as I'd like.
Cam needs to take me to about 6800rpm in 4th, for 140+ trap speeds, which is where I'd like to be. Quarter ET's are never going to be astonishing, for various reasons. I'm quite happy to aim for high speeds, and silly amounts of power

Ive been recommended this so far by Cam-Motion.
    236/243 0.600"/0.618" 114LSA 110ICL ?
    Any thoughts ?

It sounds like a lot of cam, but I'm sure their advice is sound.

Current cam on 346 is 230/236 112LSA+4 0.596"/0.606", which is about as lopey as I'd ever want.

We use a Comp camshaft that we have specially ground on quite a few of our cars. The spec's are 232/240 at .050 .595/.608 lift with a 115 lope separation. This cam works very well for us in forced induction applications, and yet it will still give the engine a lopey idle. This is the same camshaft profile we used in the twin turbo Corvette that we built earlier this year, and we also used it in the STS camaro that we just finished. Bob

    Thumbs up

I'm not that familar with the LS1, however, I run .531 lift, 242/242 dur, 114 lsa with my blower car and it loves that cam.
