make sure you have a good fuel system and get the car tuned before going into any boost at all.

you should have significant gains with upgraded fuel system, *larger injectors and fuel pump booster*

i have kinda the same setup with my custom twins,i would say with stock pump keep the boost under 6psi youll be fine upgrade to twin intake pumps go for more i have 12 psi my goat went 10s last year im heavier then your can, stock ls2 motor has 11to 1 your ls1 can handle more boost as comprssion is lower on them, its in the tune if you have the fuel,id also upgraded the injectors to 60lbers add a boost a pump and go for 10-12psi.O yea i was hitting the rev limiter 3-5 cars out before end of traps car went 129 mph coasting..and the ecu was pulling 5 deg.of timing ,at the take offs/ launching the car.. damn drive by wires so we got them bugs out looking for low tens maybe high 9s on stock motor..pm me as i custom make turbo setups for the GTO's ill lend u alil know how..

If you don't tune it you'll toast it. Get some money from your dad and take it to have it tuned on the dyno. Tell him it's an investment in your education because it obviously is! If he gives you any crap, tell him you are a good kid and if building fast cars is the worst trouble you get into, he should suck it up and hand over the payola!!

No offense but I don't blame them. A 17 year old should not drive a turboed LS1. Shit there are plenty of people that have been driving for decades that don't need a turboed LS1. But good luck with your build, hope everything works for you.

O buddy your going to have fun with this... Be very carefull you GET IT TUNNED, before you drive it hard or run under any hard acc. You will need to get a comp. it will be easier for you to tune it(or anyone else that tunes it). Also if you get anything else done to it you need to get it retuned, even if its just new pullies.

Trust me i know how much your going to want to turn that boost up just a little to see how it fills... Just remember it only takes about 2 gears for something to mess up like rings, rods, valves ect.

Also your going to need gauges...(I dont see them listed but you probley know that you will need them already). Maybe a turbo timer. I dont know ho much boost a stock ls1 can handel on boost. JUST BE CAREFULL DONT GO CRAZY ON BOOST.
