What type of pistol grip?
ok so im considering a shotgun, I want one to keep beside the bed that i can grab if needed.
But I cant decide which grip i want. Theres the first style, which is typical, and then the bottom style
This is the specific one im thinking about

The first, it is a common style grip. On that you will feel comfortable with. That is the same style grip I have on my 1300 defender. Bad photo not mine I will get a better one..

I bought the top gun today, but it has a regular shoulder buttstock, I'm debating on which of the two styles of pistol grip i want on it

Those are nice....but for one, they're pricey, and I'm wanting it to be as short as possible so I can have it leaned up by my bed

Ummm...not neccessarily. You can own a shotty with a barrel shorter than 18" as long as you get it transfered, tax stamped, as an AOW.
Here is a nice one for example which is perfectly legal.

Fore-grip is more important than the butt. Control is from the fore-grip....not the butt.

im with ztrouble, if you are hell bent on having a pistol grip, you should get one with a stock too.

word cotton.
any pistol grip is going to be rough on your hand. At least with the collapsable stock you have the ability to make it almost as short and 10x more comfortable to shoot and train with. I have personally shot a gun with a Knoxx Stock with 3" 1 1/4 oz steel loads and it was comfortable. You can get similar style stocks for less $$$Last edited by ztrouble; 01-10-2010 at 06:36 PM.

you guys are missing the point big time...i am only referring to the rear grip. I dont know if i want one angled straight down at a 90, like the top pic, or the bottom, kicked back at about 135

Before you go out and buy a pistol grip for your shotgun, go out with a buddy whose already got one and shoot it. Practice acquiring your target, shooting, chambering another round, repeat. Practice moving with muzzle discipline, target acquisition, firing, chambering and re-acquisition while moving. Then forget you wanted a pistol grip and get an adjustable knoxx spec-ops recoil reducing stock. If you're serious about using a scattergun for a fighting gun, the Knoxx and a good weapon mounted LED flashlight are money well spent. If you're just interested in blasting shit and goofing around, then by all means, pistol grips can be lots of fun.
