Should I - compounds for rifle trade?

Had a guy offer me a Marlin .17 (7+1 I believe) bolt action with scope in trade for my PSE Carrroll Intruder compound and my PSE Stradic Flite compound. Still waiting to hear how many rounds have been put through the .17, but assuming it's a lower number as the gun is fairly new and pics show it in good condition, what are your opinions? Should I consider this trade? I have a Ruger 10-22 currently - and I know the .17 is a better rifle for range. I'm not unhappy with the 10-22 though - it's very reliable and accurate. If I do the trade, I'd look to get rid of the .22 as well. I will try to post pics later - but any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated.

i have a marlin .17, the ONLY thing i dont like about it....ITS LOUD !

I have the marlin 17hmr and prefer any one of my .22's over it

they are great for range but if there is a slight breeze you have to compensate extremely


here is an example

down inside a pit,shooting at 100 yards with a 3-4 mph breeze the .17 would move 3 inches over in the wind where the .22 really didnt drift at all


plus ammo is way cheaper for the .22


they make the .17 out to be an amazing varmint gun but in reality you better be damn good at judging the wind to use it at any type of long range

isn't the ammo for the .17's expensive? I don't have one but a buddy of mine won one last year and it seems like he was bitching about how much the ammo was.

ammo is gettin cheaper but you will pay more than .22
