here are some important points to reload by-
Bottle necked rifle cartridges ALWAYS stretch when fired. Therefore you must always check length and trim if needed.
You must ALWAYS lube the cases when sizing/de-priming.
Never, Ever, Ever, start with a maximum charge. ITs best to start at 80% and work up from there.
Do read the first section of that manual before you start. I have the Lee, Modern Reloading Second Edition, printed 2k7.
Richard Lee has only done 2 manuals. so im curious which you bought????

I use to be big into reloading, but just haven't had much time the past few years. I have a ton of dies... I would go to the local auctions when they had gun supplies and could pick stuff up cheap. I would speed hours on the range testing all the loads with my chronograph. I gotta dig out the my stuff and get back into it. I have a RCBS press and really like it.

if you go with a lee press get the heaviest one, i have broke 3 or 4 lee presses loading my 243 wssm but i will say that Lee had no problem getting a new one out to me,the rcbs press i have has handled everything i threw at it so now i only use the Lee to seat the bullet
as stated read the manual and dont ever start with a max load which im sure you knew that
if you need any help let me know

sarge it is really easy I have been doing it by myself since i was about 10 years old so that tells you even a monkey can do it
it is lots of fun,you will save money(or just shoot more like me i dont save anything)and you will end up with a better bullet
i say it is fun because we used to fuck with our buddies when we would go bird hunting either we would load him up with alot of powder and very little shot so the bullet would kick the shit out of them or we would fill their shells with bird seed and then laugh all day while they were crying because they couldnt get any birds
honestly if i were buying my setup again i would buy the 100 dollar anniversary kit that Lee offers and then just buy the RCBS press and you will have just about everything you need to get started for around 200 bucks
