Mossberg/Maverick 12 guage
I do not know too much about shotgun but I am looking at picking one up soon. I do not want to spend too much $$$ on one but the store around here has a mossberg/maverick 12 guage shot gun for like $230. I was looking at it and it seemed pretty nice but I was wondering if any of you guys can give an opinion on the gun or maybe recommend something similar.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
The maverick is a pretty good gun....but i wouldnt get it if i wanted something serious...as a toy, or something just for home defense...go for it.....for just a little more money you can get a Mossberg 500....better quality gun

pretty much...its lighter..
as far as i know, the maverick only comes in that one model, the 500 comes in a lot, including a matte black, 18" tactical, with extended tube, just like the maverick. the Rem 870 also comes in one just like it....ive handled all three....and it really just comes down to quality

I have a pair of Mossberg 500's,pump action w/select choke(don't know if that's still available or not),1 in 12 ga & 1 in 20 ga,both are almost 30 yrs old & have performed flawlessly over the years. They are good guns & a good value.I have never regreted purchasing them. I hope this helps in some way

I have a 12 ga, mossberg 500 in black synthetic and love it! Came with both the long modified choke barrel and the shorter security barrel. I bought it a couple years ago on sale for around $300 brand new. I love shooting it, i have only used the long barrel with bird shot and never had a problem with it. I just got some slugs to play with the short barrell soon, just hope my arm wont hurt too bad after haha.

Went ahead and bout the Moss 12 gauge today. All black, holds 7 shells, came with an extra pistol grip i can switch to and bought a shoulder strap that holds another 15 shells.
I am pretty happy with it.

I paid $229 for my Maverick. With the 500 you get sling studs installed, a removable foregrip, and a different safety. I prefer the Mavericks safety as the 500s is hard to reach with a pistol grip. Otherwise no real difference. Barrels are interchangable.
with the pistol grip:
The Maverick 88 is also Zombie approved. http://www.zombiecrisis.org/survival...maverick88.phpLast edited by INMY01TA; 04-20-2010 at 06:50 PM.

I grew up with the Mossberg 535 Turkey. I cleaned house at the Turkey-Shoots with it. A lot of my friends crap on Mossberg because of their price. They're all Remington 870 die-hards. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the 870 Wingmaster... I chock it up to personal preference.
As soon as I can gather $675, I'm a pick me up the Mossberg 590 Tactical at the local gun-shop. I've been drooling over that thing for almost two years now LoL. The only thing I don't like about it is the stupid heat shroud over the barrel.... useless in my opinion.

Well around here there is literally no place to shoot it unless you want to drive an hour or so.
So we took a few side roads to find some back woods in the middle of no where so we couldn't hurt anything. Brought lots of different targets, guns, and ammo and had our fun.

I have a 1300 defender and Benelli Nova... I use to have a Mossberg but sold it to get the Benelli. I prefer the Benelli over both the Winchester and Mossberg. But hey thats me...
