Of course I have my .223 rifle and 9MM Pistol w/200 rounds each.

I read the entire story of the collapse of the Argentina economy in 2001. Shit will sober you up fast.

Then of course we all know what happened after Katrina. Bug Out Bag and being prepared is not for the tin foil hat wearing crowd anymore.

We don't wear tin foil anymore, that is so 90's, we wear 7 layers of velostat fabric. Since it was invented, there have only been 4 adbuctions by people wearing velostat hats, and they were all by alien-human hybrids that were smart enough to get the helmet off.

a good water purifier is handy, but if you have a lot of people 8 drops of clorox per gallon will disinfect water. a small glass container wont degrade but may break. need something to make fire. something to catch fish. 223 and 9mm is smart because you can get more rounds in a smaller space. you can pack a lot of 22 and use it in both pistol and rifle format. 22 will probably be used as money if shtf. the downside is it wont drop people as fast. clothes. load it with silver for trading and shit.

    good to go.

I could not agree more. You not only need to make a Bug Out Bag. But people might want to think about Bug Out location. Nothig like needing the bag then your next thought is where??? Then you go crap I didnt think about that.

Buy stuff that is solar powered (like a Citizen Eco-Drive) and wear it everyday (I do), plus stuff that is crank-powered. Some of the flashights are of decent lumens nowadays. Knives (plural, not singular) will be very important. I like Cold Steel stuff and have 1-3 on me at all times. Water purification tablets, flint steel for fires, steel wool, a jar of Vaseline, oil, compass, topo map of immediate area, weather radio, Sta-Bil, tarp, para-cord, sewing kit, basic blankets, multi-tool, hatchet, pencils/paper, Tupperware, and then weapons. One handgun and one rifle for EACH person. At least 5.56, but I'd still use 7.62 for rifles, and in my case .40 S&W or .45 ACP for pistols. A small .22LR like my Buckmark Target might ifnd its way in there too.

    BWAHAHAHHAHAHA thats great Sarge.

Yea I have been into the survival kick for quite some time now. Started back when my BF joined the military and I borrowed his survival manuel. I bought a canvas jeep manuel bag thing that comes in the newer jeeps. I have that pretty well stocked up with smaller items such as a whistle, compass, several ways to start a fire(water proof matches, flint and steel ect) and other usefull items. Soon as I get the funds I am looking into getting several different sized ammo cans since they are waterproof for other items. Also looking into getting MRE'S, may not taste the best but who cares when your hungry.

I buy the ammo cans at BassProShop for $10 bucks each. I like the marine survival bars best. MRE's are OK but expensive. You can live off those marine survival kits for weeks....

My "where" use to be my house. I use to live out in BF Egypt. Well that's no longer the case. They city keeps getting closer and closer. It takes about 20 + minutes to drive to the city. Heck I thought that was far enough. Guess what I was wrong... Go figure...

it takes the city a 4 hour drive and, depending on the weather, a 8 to 22 hour boat ride to get to me.

on a related note, there are only 3 burger kings in alaska. they are all in Anchorage. unless one opened recently in fairbanks that I dont know about.

The only change I woud make to the bug out bag you have there Sarge is to loose some of the 9mm ammo and replace it with more 223. Other than that it is pretty close to what I have at home.
