    windows media player sound

I have an acer laptop with windows vista installed. My sound used to work and now says there is an error. Says something about wrong drivers. I cant update media player as it says its the current one, went to acer and have current driver, also went to realtek and downloaded a different driver. I can turn off the driver and watch movies with no sound but it wont play otherwise. It worked when I got my computer and I dont want to format and start from scratch. Any ideas? Now all of a sudden I can watch youtube with sound were as it didnt work before.

You may want to update your drivers from either Acer or SigmenTel (or what ever)

What model is your Acer? I can try to give you the correct links
