Vista=LOSER
Sorry, just had to vent.
Just got a computer to fix and it has Vista, pre-SP1 on it.
I had forgotten just what a steaming turd this OS was before SP1.
I swear this sold more Macs than any commercial could have.
THIS sums it up nicely.

I agree. I just purchased a new HP 64 bit 4 gig laptop a couple months ago. It came preloaded with Vista and has crashed three times so far. I am seriously considering going back to XP. The only problem is...I have the XP Pro disc but... I'm not computer literate enough to figure out how to completely change the operating system.

i have no problem with vista...i has pre vista on a test machine at my work..has a early gen p4..1.2ghz 512mb of ram and it ran well..it was the biz edition ..i just dont understand all the fuss..people bitched at microsoft about how unsecure their os were out of the box..so vista releases one that out of the box is more secure then any other os..and people get pissed when the ua pops up..if its such a prob then turn it off..but there is a line of functionality and security..and due to the fact how stupid people are regarding the internet and security..Microsoft took the security side ..with that being said..it did take a little work to get used to vista and to get it running just how i want it to..but that is expected..ohh well i think many people are now scared to try vista becuase of all the horror stores about people not being able to find drivers for their 10 year old printer (manufacture's prob..not M$) and that bullshit upgraded hardware..every computer made within the last 6 years can run vista fine..it just requires the user to make a educated buy..shity computer..go basic..not ultimate ...[/rant]

Ive got a 2007 printrio and the drivers dont work for it ... BUTTT. I also have a window xp desktop that it is hooked to.. and if you print in the kitchen on the vista sp1 it goes through the router and prints off the xp in the bedroom.
No issues here other than I wish I could delete internet explorer 8. I have so many issues with it. Mozilla works like cake.

I loved Vista and I really enjoy Windows 7. Neither are going to get my money because Ubuntu does everything I need and its free. If I ever get back to computer games and wine cant run them, ill get windows 7

I've never had a single problem with Vista. I guess some people just dont know how to use a computer properly. I used to use XP as my OS now its all vista until 7.

What?
Vista was a failure because people didn't know how to use it?
That must be why network shares magically disappeared, then reappeared, then disappeared again, and then reappeared with bogus rights.
Sounds like the Windows Mojave commercials.
And only you must know how to use a computer since you had zero problems? Don't know if you meant to sound arrogant but it sure came across that way.
We tried the RTM in our DMZ just to see what it was like. On 30 machines, 26 had serious issues. Needless to say our corporate machines still run XP.
Also note that the machine that I was posting about was Vista pre-SP1.
It is much better after all the patches, but still a failure because the damage was already done.
The Vista brand is tainted which is why MS is going full throttle with 7. The sooner Vista is out of the public collective memories the better.Last edited by CJREX; 03-20-2009 at 02:37 PM.

Well...just today...Vista has crashed my computer for the 3rd time in 2 months. It has nothing to do about knowing how to use it. It was an automatic update from microsoft I received last night. When it installed on restart it crashed my system. Like I said before, this was the tird time it has happened. I'm really sick of having to do a system recovery and losing all my saved files. I fucking hate Vista!
