    Running Games on External HD

I know I can install and run a game off of an external hard drive from the original computer... But i was wondering... Can you take the hard drive the game is installed on, plug it into a different computer and run it on there? Or can the game only be ran from the computer it was installed on?

Note: I don't have an EHD yet but I will be getting one soon and was wondering what I could do. Also I'll be using FireWire and not USB 2.0 so speed game speed shouldn't be an issue.

you could provided the other PC has the proper memory and a video card to support eh game... you wouldn't notice anylatency from the devices as long as they are fast enough...

when you install anything on a windows based machine the program will make registry entries into the registry file. "regedit" will show the reg file..so unless the game is some dinky exe file only...it will not run on another computer unless you reinstall the game..so essentially you would make your hard drive into a over sized cd
